VW 1302 Owner's Register/Germany

'72 1302 LS Convertible
HH-VW-1000, 152 2591 684
Dark-silver-metallic, red leather
Kai Ricke/Nina Holland-Moritz, Hamburg
The original colour of the car was Pastel White with red interior
but not leather. A couple of years ago the colour was changed
into tin-grey-metallic (that's what it's called in Germany). It was
a colour of the special edition to the 50th anniversary and the
last Beetle build in Germany (not convertible). We put the leather
in this year (original seats) and it really looks fantastic.

Lars 1302

Well, I'll apply my 'best' school English ;-) Here are the technical
dates of my 1302. It's a 1971 1302 with reversing lights.
I bought it in the beginning of October 1991 from the first owner. He
originally ordered a white 1300 Beetle but delivered were the 1302 in
L31F Iberischrot, which I bought 21 years later. The car has it's first
paint and was never welded. The production plate tells: 32-4-0849
which means that my 1302 is one of the first ever produced.
Engine number: AB000874. Please visit my homepage: www.schmiddy.de,
click 'käfer' and then '1302' to see all photos of my 1302. Click on
'Die Story' to see original documents of the vehicle (receipt etc.).
The original mileage with the original engine (and original color) is
26,000 km (appr. 14,500 miles) :-)

I bought it 4 years ago in rather good condition as a car for only one
winter-season for 900,00 DM but soon it has become my daily driver.
Now we already went happy 80.000 km together on our daily ride
to work within the last 4 years. Rust slowly but surely is a serious
but not yet essential problem. For better driving I lowered the front end by
4 centimeters and mounted 175/70 - 15 tyres on 5 1/2 inch hubcap wheels.
A Kamei front spoiler with teeth (airbrush) painted on looks really good
in front. The kids love it and often direct with their fingers upon us.
The front seats were in really run-down condition so they were replaced
by seats from a ´78 VW Derby (because of their green colour).
