Illinois Baja

'The car was originally delivered to a VW dealer in Dublin, OH. who put the car into his private collection for 20 years. The Baja was sold to a dealer/collector in Florida in December of 1992 with an odometer reading of 34 miles. The car was sold retail for the first time in January of 1994 with 37 miles.

The car was sold in May of 1996 with mileage at 1064. We purchased the car in June of 1997 with the odometer reading of 1963. As of today the odometer reading is 2362. We have the odometer disclosure statements for each sale. We also have a copy of the original window sticker. We have done VW shows from Colorado to Tennessee with the 'obvious' results. Not meaning to boast but it is hard to beat a totally original VW in showroom condition. In all of these shows the car was transported in a covered trailer to prevent damage from road hazards.

We have two extra wheel center caps and a set of NOS grey lug nut caps in the original packaging. These items are extremely rare. To the best of our knowledge VW produced a total of 6000 units total (including both the US Baja edition and the Marathon or World Champion edition in Europe) and only 1500 SE's where imported to the US. To repeat a portion of the ad, the Baja additions to the Super Beetle are the Marathon Metallic paint, rubber bumper inserts, Marathon 10 spoke sport wheels with the chrome VW center caps and the Baja Champion badge attached to the glove box door.'
